Some may automatically assume, contract's as in going to another Farm and plowing 50acres. ... but it isn't. My idea is different.

I mean Contracts as in a contract to a SuperMarket or Food Manufactorer.

So in game you'll start off with your occasional farm, and in your PDA you'll recieve offers from places like Tesco for 12000l of Milk per month for 5000, and a bonus of 2000 for consistency + quality.

Or maybe? A contract with Weetabix, for 50000 tonnes of Wheat a year for 1m. I mean this is what happens when your deliver your goods to the grain store anyway they just sell them onto places like this, however I think it would be a good additional. Maybe even storing the grain at your own farm in a big shed, arranging a lorry to come collect it and loading it yourself?

Obviously the prices (above) are innacurate, but the point of it would to give the game some career meaning. So there wouldn't be a money cheat, you'd start of with your basic farm machinery, do your first year contract for a small company, get a substantial amount of money, then 2 year you upgrade your equipment, then accept a larger contract for another overall income. This obviously wouldn't have to be the main part of the either because you wouldn't have to accept the contract you could just play it like you do now, however I think it would add a nice little perk to the game Smile

Maybe take on a more realistic business farming approach in general too, so you have to think about your income and outgoings to make sure you don't get into debt. Because you can't just buy 10x JD 7930s and not expect maintenance charges etc, I mean you pay for fuel etc. I think it would add potentially a really nice twist into the up coming STs, and an option of whether to play the game, 'Standard' or 'Advanced' would be nice too. Despite the earlier posts I have made, I hope their is another ST and I hope some of your Wishes can be placed into the game, because I certainly know I'd like mine too be Smile

these sound like some great ideas. this would add so much realism to simtractor. The contracts with supermarkets sounds brilliant.for me, it would give goals to achieve.there would actually be reason for cropping, rotations etc

Thanks for your feedback Smile

Your right T6080, it would add goals to the game, maybe even an events list in the PDA would be great, so you can keep on top of the upcoming jobs required to meet contract deadlines Smile

EDIT:

Would just like to point out, 60 people have looked at this thread, and there is only 4 additional posts on top of my first. Come on people post, the more posts the better Smile

I like the idea. It works for me as it would add more crops too. Not just hay, wheat, sugar beets, corn or rye grass. Plus the wheat, corn and hay bales should have different looks to them as you can sell different bales to contractors for straw and to horse farms for hay. If you get what i'm saying. And small square bales would be cool too. Then you don't always have to have big and round.

that sounds like a really good idea and we could also have a beef unit and have a contract were we have to deliver so much meat to the factory every month

This sounds awesome, i dont know how hard this to do, but if it would have been possibly, it would get more like the real world, with economics and stuff.

I just bought the family dairy farm in Norway, so i know that it isn't just to buy, buy and buy.

Or drive machinery thru the walls Laughing
